How to brake on roller skis
Braking on roller skis isn't that difficult if you practice.
How to brake on roller skis
- Braking can be done like on normal skis by ploughing.
- Remember to maintain a good distance between the front wheels when the ploughing movement starts.
- Tilt the skis inwards, with as much rubber as possible in towards the asphalt. Press your heels and rear wheels down towards the center as much as you can.
- Another technique is to put one leg 45 degrees behind the front ski and tow the rear leg behind you.
- It can also be a good idea to practice emergency braking by rolling off the asphalt. Put one ski well in front of the other and place the weight in between, preferably with slightly bent knees.
